UNiTAB Limited and its related bodies corporate (collectively UNiTAB or we
or us) provide services which include wagering conducted via the
telephone, the internet and other automated devices. To take advantage
of these wagering services, a deposit or betting account (Account) must
be established with UNiTAB. In establishing accounts and in administering
and maintaining them we will collect certain information about you. We
respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal
information and set out below information regarding our treatment of
your personal information.
What information do we collect about you
In order to establish, and in the course of your operating an Account,
UNiTAB generally will collect the following information about you:
a. your name;
b. your gender and date of birth;
c. your contact details (such as your address, email address and
telephone and fax numbers);
d. identification information to enable us to verify your identity as
required under the Financial Transaction Reports Act 1988
(Commonwealth);
e. your credit card(s) details if you wish to use your credit card with
us.
Why we collect and use your personal information
The primary purpose for collecting personal information about you is to
establish, administer and maintain your Account. We also collect and use
your personal information in order to tell you about UNiTAB products and
services, to improve the service we offer you, to provide you with any
benefits you may be entitled to, and to comply with legislative and
regulatory requirements. While you are not under any obligation to
provide your personal information to us, we will not be able to
establish, administer and maintain your Account without the information
set out in (a) and (d) inclusive above.

Who we share your personal information with
Other than as between companies comprising the UNiTAB group and as may be
required by law, we may also pass your personal information to
organisations that are contracted to perform certain services for UNiTAB.
This includes agents operating our sales outlets, Australia Post and
mailing houses. In relation to credit card transactions we will exchange
personal information with the relevant financial institution.
Personal information that you provide may also be disclosed to recognised
governing bodies responsible for the administration of events on which
UNiTAB conducts wagering (Governing Body) where there are reasonable
grounds to suspect that you may be involved in a breach of the rules of
an event, the rules of a Governing Body, or a threat to the probity of
an event on which UNiTAB conducts wagering.
We do not disclose your personal information to organisations outside
the UNiTAB group for their marketing purposes although we may send you
marketing information on their behalf.
